Is it ok to watch The Office on my lunch break?

Gobbled down my lunch. Would it be reasonable to sit in an empty conference room and watch last night's episode of The Office before getting back to work? Just bored today.

If nobody cares and you're not on company time, I don't see an issue with it.

IT could get picky about bandwidth and usage of the projector I'm assuming you might use.

Better not.
Are you using company equipment? In a company facility? In company time? Boss/coworkers around?
You don't want to get fired for watching a TV show, do you? That could be ground for warning or even termination.
My opinion.

I usually have something on Hulu playing in the background while I work. my boss doesn't care as long as I get my work done.

really depends on your corporate culture.

around here, we don't really get scheduled lunch breaks (though we only work 8 hour days as opposed to having a forced unpaid lunch break in the middle of the day or something) so the general attitude is that everyone (except like sales/HR/office staff) does whatever they need to do when they go to lunch and takes as little time as possible doing it.

no one, like, just takes a half an hour lunch break for the hell of it and spends it in an empty conference room watching tv.

Do you laugh out loud very obnoxiously? Do you watch it naked?

If the answer to these questions is no, then who cares.

<Ben174> : If they only realized 90% of the overtime they pay me is only cause i like staying here playing with Kazaa when the bandwidth picks up after hours.
<ChrisLMB> : If any of my employees did that they'd be fired instantly.

i normally record from my PC & move it to my Archos PMP.. then i play it while I work.. or go to a conference room during lunch to watch it... ?

When I worked over the summer a bunch of guys would watch movies in one of the vendor conference rooms (using company equipment). No one cared.

iPod, Blackberry, Most smartphones, PPC (Axim, etc) and some headphones...why can't you do it like everyone else...

My job requires some frequent short hop airline flights...I can typically get in 2 22 minute (half-hour shows without commercials) in on a single flight (jetway to jetway) (and I get paid for it, too!).

Winsauce from Bash.org. Love it.

Probably not. Even if you don't get fired people will respect you less.

Just take your laptop to a cafe or restaurant and watch it there.

If you sit in the same conference room and read a book people will think you are intelligent.
