Is it ok to wash 100% Polyester?

So I have this comforter and its really comfy.

But it's 100% polyester and I haven't washed it for 9 months. It was brand new when I opened it and it still looks good, but I heard it wasn't good to stick Polyester in a washing machine.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

It's not okay to even own something that's 100% polyester. You should be able to wash it, warm water and gentle cycle. Don't throw it in the drier afterward, hang it up and let it air dry.

The alternative is you're an idiot. Accept being painted a yout.

polyester is pretty resilient and *usually* handles washing and drying pretty well

//sometimes "dry clean only" is a load of crap.

wait, what does the tag say? id wash it, but if you dont have a large capacity washer/dryer and the comforter is hefty you might have some issues

Why the hate for polyester?

It doesn't wrinkle easily.
No need to iron.
Doesn't shrink and keeps its shape.

I only have cotton shirts, and not long after I put one on its already wrinkled. I don't think I will bother with cotton shirts anymore.
