Is it OK to mix CAS Latency?

I had bought 2 sticks of some Mushkin DDR400 (512MB) with a latency of 3. I originally didn't know what the CAS was at the time, but I just needed RAM.

About a month later, I bought what I thought was the same RAM. Same brand, same DDR, looked exactly the same. I didn't think much of it. When I got it, I looked it over, and it looked the same.

As I am puting the computer together, I noticed that the one I just bought says this:
"DDR400(2.5)"
and the other that I already had says:
"DDR400(3)"
I assume this is the CAS, but what I want to know is if it would be ok to put two different CAS in the same computer.

Thanks in advance.

I sure you can set all the sticks of ram into cas 2.5, if that doesn't work bump the memory'
s voltage up a little although i'll doubt you will need to.

RAM is RAM is RAM (at least with DDR SDRAM). It will just run at the speed of the slowest memory in the system. Generally, you can mix different speeds and brands of memory without a problem.
