is it ok to machine wash my dry clean only pants?

i own some pants that are like trousers...suit pants...that are dry clean only (on the tag). just wondering what will happen if i just toss them into the machine to wash them? i'm too lazy to take it to the dry cleaners!!

I'd say no. They might come out faded, severely wrinkled, or worse.

you should be able to wash them on the gentle cycle and hang dry them

Gentle cycle with cold water and Woolite, and you should be okay.

i would suggest against it. I once had a vest that stated not to be machine washed... but after I accidently subjected it to the washing machine, a thin plastic coating began to strip off of the vest and completely ruined it 🙁
