Why not?

Do you really care what people think?

No. My friend said it's considered unmanly for guys to listen to any female singer. Even though he listens to female singers as well.

Your friend is a dumbass.

So it his friend's friend.

QFT!

Sometimes I turn on Breaking Benjamin, go to my audio options panel (for my SB Audigy 2 ZS), and set the equalizer to "Male to Female". Makes it sound like a woman is singing

I like female singers, they just sound better usually, and they turn me on a little.

It all depends on the song as a whole, whether or not I like it.

Only if your gay....... duh. Real men listen to real men like Deaf Leapard and Motley Crew. Anything other that Demasculizes you!!!!!

But most women definately are easier on the eyes and ears than Motley Crew and Deaf Leapard.....

I like Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, Utada Hikaru, and Jolin Tsai!

CDwise the only females in my collection would be Alanis Morrisette and K's Choice. I think that's all.

MP3wise I have songs by Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Loreena McKennitt, Enya, Evanescence, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Fiona Apple, Shakira, Avril Lavigne, Sixpence Non the Richer, Dido, Liz Phair, Nena, and Norah Jones.

I can only think of two female artists I would say I really enjoy. I enjoy Dido's stuff but have never bought any of her cd's. I really like Fiona Apple and have recently acquired all of her cd's. Her style is just so weird and unique that I feel silly and happy listening to her.

Oh, almost forgot, Natalie Imbruglia isn't bad.

Edit: I have to say that there are some other bands I listen to that have a prominent female singer. Some types of songs are just better with a female voice: Moonbabies, Zero 7, Straylight Run, Postal Service.

no its fine. A lot of female singers have beautiful voices.

I liked Alanis Morssette, Tori Amos, Imogen Heap...lots more...whatever u like is fine.

Wow, someone that actually put down Imogen Heap. I found her through the Garden State soundtrack... I love her vocals (and the music in general).

But yeah, I get reamed on all the time for the music I listen to.. heh. When I listen to music, I tend to like to listen to female voices. I could care less what people think of me based on what I listen to.

I think Kelly Clarkson is alright to listen to if you are alone or with a girl.

I prefer female voices to male generally.
Enya, Alanis Morissette, Natalie Imbruglia (Pigeons and Crumbs = best), Fiona Apple's rendition of "Across the Universe"...really prefer them. I wish Fiona would do more calm, nice songs too. Her two albums just seemed more suited to my depressing days in high school. They just don't do it for me anymore I guess.
However, I also listen to The New Pornographers (male and female band), and They Might Be Giants.
