Is it odd that

I just got a 4770k and still want to buy a 6800k for an ITX build?

I already got a low end Ivy bridge in living room for HTPC.

Figure cheap 6800k for MMO gaming while playing Starcraft on 4770k 🙄

If the noise isn't an issue then there's no reason why not. You're not going to get better performance at that price in that size of enclosure.

I'd definitely go with the 6700 instead as the cooler is noticeably quieter for very similar performance. It'll be easier to get a much quieter low-profile aftermarket cooler for 65W as well. http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/cpu/57197-amd-a10-6700-32nm-richland/

As the review says, it's not that much better than the 5700 and you might be able to get a 5700 a bit cheaper.

not too odd, I was considering a ITX + Richland build also; it seems like a fun idea. The underwhelming supply of mini-ITX FM2 boards pretty much curbed my enthusiasm however.

Do post back if you choose to go ahead with the build, I'd be curious to hear about your experiences with whatever board you would decide to go with.

its always good to try new stuff, I got 2 full rigs right now and I still want to build an APU HTPC... its so tempting coz its soo cute yet it got some kick to it xD
