Is it normal for notches to NOT lineup when seating the CPU?

So I have an evga x79 classified, and an i7 4820K. When I seat it so that it lines up with the arrow as I've done everytime i've built a rig, the notches don't lineup. Is this normal? They're both lga 2011 so I didn't screw up while ordering. I just want to make sure I'm not about to fry and cry.

You need to line up the notches in the cpu pcb with the notches in the socket as it's the only way it'll seat correctly.

Then I'm confused. I'd always thought all I had to match was the socket (they're both lga 2011) and the the arrow. The notches are definitely not lining up when I seat the cpu so that the corner with the arrow is in the same corner as the one on the motherboard bracket.
