Is it normal for cpu temp increase when...

I have a i7-2600k w/ 8gb of corsair vengeance ram. Idle temps in bios was 29-30 degrees and recently I got another 8gb of corsair vengeance for cheap.

When I installed the new 8gb I noticed the idle went to 32-33 degrees. Is this normal? As for the temps I know it's safe and fine but I'm just wondering about the temp increase from idle being normal or not.

Thanks in advance

That is normal. RAM gets hot and you added two more sticks.

I agree but like I said it was idle temps in bios not even in windows yet. So I would assume there shouldnt be a change but of course that's why I'm asking here 🙂

More voltage is needed to run the extra chips you just installed and it causes the MOSFETs (I think) that are around the CPU socket to heat up. That heat transfers to anything around it.

Did you move your HSF to put the other 2 sticks in? I had to nudge my Mugen 2 slightly to fit taller sticks. It raised my idle by 1-2c.
