Is it more important for you to do right or be right?
For example...
SO pisses you off. You get in a fight. You're know you're right.
Do you hold a grudge and let things fester til they drip with pus, or do you say "how much does it really matter", smootch the ass that brung ya, and move on happy?
There's a billion different life experiences that you can plug in here. Pissed off at the boss and quit rather than forgetting about it and still having a job, and so on.

Unless the boss is probing your rear end and causing lots of general discomfort, stay unless you have a better option.
Money > soul

If I'm right about something, then I'm right about it regardless of how many people agree or don't agree with me. Generally it's enough to say what I think and get on with life...or a disagreement provides the impetus to do some more research. I don't have the mental stamina to hold grudges, and I usually end up setting them down somewhere and losing them in a matter of minutes.

Well, if it's a SO, you'd be right and do right by letting it go even if you are wrong. Girls are freakin crazy.. it usually takes time for them to realize they are wrong.

It seems the question you are asking, whether you like to think it or not, is whether you should just let things slide when dealing with a person who doesn't seem to accept undeniable proof.

When it's put that way, I'd rather just let someone believe they're right and go along my merry way... they'll usually learn that they are wrong as some point or other during their life.

Might as well just do right and let it go. No sense being petty and making things worse

There's the answer.
"Being right" is a one way street. "Doing right" is a two-way street.
Being right shores up an ego, shores up pride (or false pride if it just so happens you're wrong), and inflates self worth.
Doing right does all those things on a positive slant plus adds all the things that come back from the other party involved. Respect, love, admiration, and more.
If you've gone so far as to put your own feelings aside (setting down a grudge when you're right), it's an ego deflator. It leads us to being less judgemental and more accepting of the ridiculous shyt that goes on around us.

A :cookie: for PHiuR.

It depends. Which benefits me more? Resolving the conflict quickly or resolving it in my favor?
