Is it me, or is having Free-DC stats down getting reallllly old

I'm thinking that hosting a site like that, and running real time scripts must take up a lot of bandwidth. Maybe the site should screenshot running scripts every half hour...

Most likely the case of not enough time to devote to the site and not enough cash to keep the wheels well greased when links get busted (probably happens all the time).

Back in the old day, I think someone ran the scripts for the team. But, of course there were only a handful of projects.

I don't know ... how hard it would be to do it manually... and fix links whenever they break to keep the data flowing, just for the team. I'd volunteer to help out. Would be interesting to learn how to scrape sites for data.

At least an update. This message appears when you try to load stats:

Monday December 3rd 2018. Database server has been down for a few days, after getting home late last night it was too late to do anything. Today I will take it apart and try to diagnose what is going on.

Yep. Could be worse, though.

OS drive is hosed. Database drives are all ok though. I have to rebuild it somehow which is going to take time.

Yes, but I don't see why it should take so long. I can install an OS and most of the needed software in an hour on a modern system. Any why no raid0 on a server ? In todays world, anybody can afford to do that.

We don't know whether or not he had RAID0, nor whether or not it would have prevented the particular corruption or sped up the recovery.

Also, an internet-facing server with a rather complex application like stats.free-dc is certainly not something which anybody can bring online in a matter of an hour.

Third, we don't know when Bok has time to spare for such things, and when. (The first part of the delay was due to him not having physical access.)

At this moment, something seems amiss with Folding stats for the TeAm. Probably still a work in progress, though.
