Rinse with a 50/50 mix of Listerine and H2O2. Peroxide oxygenates your mouth AND it kills bacteria at the same time.

I've been rinsing this way for nearly 2 years.

Isn't peroxide the stuff you use to treat cuts and scrapes to your skin? :Q
there are proxide rinses. the mouth is full of good and bad bacteria, and if you kill off all the bacteria the system of checks and balances may go out of wack, and you can end up with a bad bacteria going haywire.

It's also an oral debriding agent. Works great and foams up quite a bit; it really makes your mouth feel clean.

Is it safe to put in your mouth though? What if you accidentally swallow it?

Drugstore perixide is usually a 3% solution. Swallowing a tablespoon of it won't hurt you in the least.

Is there a better solution?

Of course it's going to come back after that amount of time. There's really nothing you can do to keep bad breath away that long.

Especially seeing as how it'll turn into water and oxygen in your body. Big deal. :)

Yeah get some Peroxide. You can get an entire bottle for 48 cents. I use those little kid paper cups and fill like the same amount of water and Peroxide (You dont need much, like 1/4th the total size of the cup)

Is it those little tonsilith (sp?) things you're tasting? Is it a horrible horrible awful taste?

I paid $0.98 for a 32-oz. bottle of it at my grocery store. Not sure why the other bottle cost $6...but H2O2 is cheap.

Good idea... i'm still astonished at the fact that listerine makes your breath smell worse :| How are these jerks still in business? :(

You could have all sorts of issues causing it that you can't expect any product to miraculously fix. Talk to your doctor and dentist to find out what is causing it.

Use Listerine, not water. H2O2 tastes sorta gross.

I just use water and yeah, it tastes like ass. What I do to help is, brush and floos first, rinse, then use water and the H202, then gargle, then rinse with water, then brush with a lot of tooth paste, then rinse. And rinse.

The first time you use it you'll think it's gross, but my system above (it sounds like a lot but doesn't take long) works very well. Oh and don't eat after it. Your food will taste like crap.

*********************************************************************FOR ANYBODY WHO CARES**********************

1. first of all, floss
2. buy Listerine toothpaste and brush with that first -2 min.
3. get arm and hammer toothpaste and brush -2 min.
4. use 1/4 of the Listerine cap fill-up and mouth wash for 15 seconds
5. rinse mouth several times

6. brush your teeth after breakfast, lunch, dinner - each brush is 1 1/2 min.

7. repeat steps 1-5 before you go to sleep - you will have teeth and breath like Hollywood stars.

If anybody says that this is too much, think about these steps before you start making out with your girl friend of boy friend.

Brushing your teeth twice with two different toothpastes four times a day (as you suggest) is a surefire way to wear the enamel right off your teeth.

There IS such a thing as brushing your teeth too much.
