Is it me, or are a lot more people highlighting/coloring their hair lately?

My mom did my brother's hair in highlights yesterday(her idea), and it turned out pretty good. But it got me thinking and I have noticed a lot more people doing this lately, or is it just me?

"Lately" meaning over the last 2-3 years. I thought about getting blonde highlights myself but my hairdresser told me it wasn't for me. Hmmmm???

I want to know why every kid around seems to have a blonde skunk streak on their head. Did someone decide looking like Pepe was fashionable?

I've been thinking that it might be fun to have blonde hair for awhile. Right now I've got light brownish hair

I want to do the outer 1/8" or so of my hair that deep almost iridescent blue that people get.

I have summer hair and winter hair... I always keep my hair lighter in the summer because the chlorine, sun, etc bleaches it anyway. I've gone lighter than ever this year... it's a highlighted light auburn. Downright reddish blond in some places! When fall comes back around, I'll go back to my normal/natural medium to dark auburn/reddish brown. It's fun... I like to change my look with the seasons.

The sun hightlights my hair for me in the summer, but I like going to the salon in the winter and having it hightlighted.
