That age discrimination stuff is no joke. My buddy runs a roofing company & put out an ad looking for "young, energetic people", because he needed people who could work all day on a hot roof in the sun, get up & down ladders, etc. A random lawyer contracted him within hours & slapped him around a bit because legally you can't cut people off from jobs - you can filter your choices in-house, but not in public!

there's a trailer park i wanted to live in, but it only allows people 55 and over

but i don't think i have a case because i'm below 40 so i'm not a protected class

However had he worded it: "Job duties require long hours working outdoors in extreme heat conditions" there would be no grounds for any reasonable legal action. (its the details lol)

That's basically what he ended up doing...need to be up on a roof, need to tolerate long hours, need to tolerate hot conditions, need to tolerate physical labor, etc. I think he ended up reviewing it with a layer so he didn't trip over any wording. Had no idea he was even violating anything!

I'm looking for a starter house & found some great prices in 55 & over housing, too bad I'm not over 55! I feel discriminated against! :p Perfect size house for me, good price, nice quiet neighborhood, didn't realize it was 55+ lol.

Lol I read a story where a teenager who wanted to buy a house ended up accidentally buying in a retirement neighbourhood because it was a good deal. Somehow managed to get past all the checks and got the house. I think it ended up working in the end but imagine owning in an area where you have to avoid making any noise past 4pm because everyone is in bed lol. But at least it's probably ok to mow the lawn at 6am because everyone is up at 5.

I don't know about Canuckistan, but here, if the house is deeded as being 55+ (neighborhood C & C's) there should be no way the sale went through...and if, somehow it did...he'd be forced to sell.

Yeah no idea how it ended up happening, I think the parents were involved with the sale, maybe they even used their name. It was just a blurb on the news.

I do find it weird that they can even age discriminate though.

Now I'm thinking about a hotel for people born in 1994, to attract people traveling from other cities.

Pretty sure you have to be Indian to have a hotel. I think it's the law.

Stop planning, start doing.
The main reason I don't have a job is because I have delusional parasitosis which makes me itch a lot.

I was working at McDonald's a couple years ago, but was fired for scratching too much, they said it wasn't sanitary.

Studies have shown that electro shock therapy helps with delusional parasitosis, but medical doesn't cover it and it costs $2500.

You can discriminate against people born after 1984 but not those born before 1984. Age discrimination against older people is illegal. It's open season on the young. Maybe the young should start voting a bit more to counter those mean old bastards who do vote.

I used to live in "transitional age youth" housing that was 18-24.

Job corps was 18-24 also.

He wouldn't be discriminating on age...just year of birth. You can be any age you want...as long as you're born in 1994. Easy-peasy.

I bet ATOT could knock something up that would do the job for cheap!

I can always rebuild this contraption into a fancy box, charge 1000x the cost of the materials and sell it as a piece of medical equipment:

I have no idea how many volts it was putting out because I don't have any equipment capable of measuring voltage that high but it was fun to play with.

See this is the type of medical equipment I expect ATOT to do! Especially if someone suggests overclocking it!

Bah…just connect some wires to a couple of nail files and to some chickenwire. Wrap the chickenwire around his head, stick the nail files into the closest wall outlet. Voila!
