Last night I was looking for something to play instead of leveling on WoW and I realized how many PC games I've bought the past couple months.. and how little I enjoyed them.

Doom 3, I dont think this needs an explanation.
Warhammer 40k: Am I defective? I seem to be the only one that doesnt enjoy this?
Rome Total War: Pretty much the same as Warhammer.. I just can't get into it.
Sims 2 I've built so many houses.. just need a break 🙂
Halo 2 [Xbox.. ofcourse] I find rumble matchs fun.. I'm just not good enough I guess.
Battle for middle earth.. I haven't played this a heck of alot.. perhaps I should give it more of a chance.

These are all big name games, and most of them are well liked.
I am beginning to think I'm defective for not liking them, I would still rather go play Red alert [Which sadly won't work on my new rig for some reason]

I'm usually really into RTS and such...

Perhaps I should just pop Civ 2 in.

It's because they haven't released a good turnbased strategy for a long time IMHO. If you havn't played heroes of might and magic III before you should try it, the graphics are pretty outdated but you should be able to get your hands on HOMM III Complete for less than nothing.

It has just the..... just one more turn

Oh yes! I loved that game, unfortunatly I let a friend borrow it a year or two ago and haven't seen it since.

Is heroes 4 just as good?

No, avoid at all cost!!!! the AI was never finished and the game was released early to prevent the company from bankcruptcy, which it didn't. SO most of the time the AI stays inside the castle, or kills itself on huge monster stacks. The multiplayer code is insanely slow.

But there's been a really cool mod for heroes III called Wake of Gods which makes it even better.

Just remeber to get the "complete", not that I think the regular box anymore. The complete includes two expansion packs.

I find myself in the same slump...games just don't seem as fun. I tried and tried to find a game that brought back that giddy feeling I used to get, none worked. I ended up attributing it to the fact that I am old now. Except, there is hope, I bought WoW and have started ignoring my responsibilities, GF and any other life issues once again. Give it a try, even other MMORPG's just didn't stack up, but this one...it's like a new strain of Crack that brings back that original high all over again...*Drrroooool* *Twitch-Twitch*

Hahah yeah, I have wow.

I just need breaks between grinding, long breaks, grinding + mmo.. it doesnt work for me.

I loved UO, work up your skills for a week or two [depending on what skill, if you knew what you were doing]

And then have some serious fun.
