...are other people secretly kinda happy when dumbasses get screwed over because they gave their credit card number/SSN/etc out online? I see it as being a survival of the fittest. In this case, the people who are giving their information out are clearly NOT the fit ones. I also take pleasure in the fact that these people are the same people who send me the "OMG!!!!!! Microsoft is going to pay you $3000 every time you send this email out!!!" forwards thinking theyre going to get rich. It annoys me to high hell. I don't hate virus writers. I think of them as equalizers that weed out the truly stupid and naive. Maybe i'm just bitter.

if you're dumb enough to give out your credit card number on a site that says it's ebay, but the word ebay is nowhere in the domain you deserve what you get.

like OREOspeedwagon said, if you're dumb enough to do something like that, no one really took advantage of you. You were just being a dumbass. It's like saying you lost your wallet and were subsequently "taken advantaged of" because no one returned it. It's your own damn fault IMO.

and about the virus' thing...i'm not sure i think they're "okay" per se, but i just dont hate them. They are like the equivalent of natural disasters for the animal kingdom, in a way. They're natural filters. Imagine a world where everyone lived forever because there was no diseases or virii, and people found the fountain of youth. I think we'd all just end up nuking the planet anyway. Equilibrium is GOOD.
