Is it just me, or whenever you install logitech mouseware does it make your mouse go slower?

I just got around to installing this logitech mouseware for my ifeel mouse so i can use the technology and 2 things:

1. is it just me or does it make the cursor a little slower than normal? (if so how the heck can i get it back to normal)
2. how the heck do i get this dang "webwheel" to go off and let my middle mouse button back to normal?

Change the settings on the mouse. Can probably get to them buy stopping by the control panel and opening up the "Mouse" applet.

Ifeel? Is that like, the vibrating mouse or something? I never install any 3rd party software for a mouse/kb...but then again, I don't use those wireless things. My GF bought some mouseware that turns the pointer into dolphins or birds...It screwed everything up...hardlocks/BSODs and all. Removed that crapware and all was well. Of course she didn't have the jumping dolphin cursor anymore, but she got over it.

Sorry, can't help you at all...

this is so annoying, you think they'd keep the speed to normal like everyone is used to, and theres no default setting for it either, i got my middle mouse button back to normal though.

edit: yes its the vibrating mouse, what sucks is you HAVE to have this mouseware to use the vibration.

Have you upped the mouse speed via the control panel?

Raising the refresh rate seems to slow the pointer down some, though I don't really see why.

I have a logitech wireless on mine and the wife's comp. In the mouse control panel you can adjust the speed (at least on mine you can.) I also noticed that after adjusting the settings a reboot seems to get things going smoothly the way I want.

i also have this ifeel mouse, its damn kewl looking:) anyways, set the middle wheel button to universal scroll instead of webwheel. that should solve it.

as for speed, u ratched it up to max accel/speed? i have it there:p yes it doesn't seem to go up as fast as an ps2 mouse at max accel/speed but its nowhere near slow.

after you install the mouseware disc that came with the mouse. update by downloading the newest off logitechs site and installing over it

as for the ifeel software, makesure you got the newest stuff dowdnloaded. logitechs site has links to the immersion whatever site. they probably improve on the tech so best to keep up to date.

best game use of ifeel fx so far?(atleast that i've experienced) medal of honor allied assault.

one game pissed me off.. jedi knight 2, they came out with the ifeel/3d sound patches after i finished the game. me thinks they shipped a tad early.

I have nothing but problems whenever I've installed the utility/app for any mouse; freezing, intermittant movements, all sorts of weird quirks. I just use the driver bundled with Windows, or I'll install JUST the driver from the install disk (using the .inf file) but not its associated utility.

What pisses me off about Logitech, is that their PS/2 connectors are proprietary, so if you want to convert a PS/2 mouse to a serial mouse, you have to use Logitech's converter, which is hard to do if you've lost it. ;-)

But, I called Logitech to order one, and they sent me two for free! All I had to pay was postage/shipping, which was under 5 bucks for both. So, they redeemed themselves in a good way.

Yes, the mouse works fine without using mouseware. But, if you use the standard windows drivers, you won't get to program your mouse to do different things. This is useful for mousewheel and extra buttons.

I have no extra buttons. I got a ball, a left button and a right button. Nothing more is needed on my pointing device.
