Is it just me, or is no one really bitching about current gas prices?

You know what we should do? Use the power of the internet to organize a one day boycott of gas. Think about how that would hurt the oil companies that one day.

I will draft the email. Please PM me your addresses and I will send it to you. If you could each send it to 10 people and request that they send it to 10 people, within a month or two we will have captivated the attention of about 80% of the gas buying public.

Here's the headline in the news the next day:

"Worst Single Day Of Gas Sales Followed By Best"

LMAO😀

If you weren't being sarcastic... OMG YOUR THE FIRST PERSON TO EVER THINK OF THAT! IT WOULD WORK SO WELL!

If you were being sarcastic... meh

I bitch every time I have to fill up. Matter of fact I had to get gas today. $27.00 total for a full tank. Sad part is if you are low on gas you are going to get it regardless of how much it costs. The jackasses who control the production know this and continue to jack up prices. It makes no freaking sense how gas can be $1.80 one day and jump to $2.15 over night. Complete BS if you ask me.

Didn't read the whole thread... but there will never be such thing as "too expensive gasoline". Sooner or later consumers will simply adjust their budgets and move on with life at a new gas price. This also coupled with inflation adjustment means it's not going up nearly as fast as you think.

The only time petroleum will truly become "expensive" is when the amount of energy needed to obtain it is not matched by the amount of energy returned from it (i.e., it takes the equivalent energy of two gallons of oil to drill deep enough to obtain one gallon back). At that point it's no longer feasible as a general purpose fuel anyway.

Meh...I haven't filled up in three weeks or so, because I barely drive 10 miles a week when I'm at school, if even that much (occasional mini road trips notwithstanding). My car requires Premium, and I believe the last time I filled it up, it was $1.91 per gallon. I remember thinking a year and a half ago that $1.50 was a lot (compared to what I was used to), but overall it's not really that much of a problem for me. At $2/gallon, a complete fillup is nearing $35, but it'll also usually last me at least 400 miles - and that could easily last me two months when I'm at school. I've still got well over half a tank in my car now, and I doubt I'll have to refill before Spring Break unless I go somewhere >50mi away over a weekend or something.
