is it just me or is citibank's online system terrible?

I also have american express and their online system is flawless

On the OTHER HAND, citibank's online system is getting on my nerves

Maybe it's just me but it's really confusing. The recent transactions take couple days until they show WHEREAS AMEX posts recent transactions almost immediately. For example, the most recent transactions that is shown on my account is from 11/12 which was 4 days ago. This delay seems inefficient

I also make payments and the money is taken from my bank but it still shows the due date and how much I owe. I know we can make numerous payments per period but it would help if it shows that I made the payment or something

I don't find Citi any more difficult to navigate or use over American Express.

I do admit that it takes a day for a Citi purchase to post online where Amex purchases show up immediately.

Citibank has really been sucking online lately. I always have trouble accessing my accounts, and the system is really slow.

Terrible doesn't begin to describe it. Heinous falls short even. Capital One's system is better, that alone should get the message across.

CitiBank > Amex > Cow droppings > Capital One

I actually prefer CitiBank's online banking (when it's working) and they offer better rewards with no annual fee.

Key phrase is "when it's working" I love it when it works, but its been down alot for me lately. A shame because I love the card and the benefits.

Lately CitiBank Online has really improved in speed and reliability. 1-2 years ago it was TERRIBLE.

I love that same day payments before 1AM EST are applied the same day for free.

I agree with you about the card itself, HOWEVER the online service is a different story. The interface is slower, more convoluted, doesn't even post a current unbilled activity statement on the main page, had on-mouse-over drop down menus to navigate to half the basic functions, and takes days to post charges. And that is when it's working.

*>Capitol One - Be it the card or the online service. I hate Capitol One. They're so full of it it's not remotely funneh.

Their online service is relatively speedy about posting charges, doesn't limit your number of online payments per month (a la Citibank), and is faster and easier to navigate, not to mention up more often. I just hate the login. And the card itself offers inferior benefits.

Never had a problem with Citibank.
However, MBNA is just attrocious.
I've been trying for about 2 weeks to pay online and never could so I snail mailed it.
I can get into my account just fine but when I try to the "pay bill" page, it wouldn't load.
I think MBNA is oding it on purpose.

I had trouble paying my last MBNA bill too. My new citibank just came in the mail yesterday... wish me luck

I like it. I only have BankOne to compare it to. BankOne is probably just a bit better but Citibank is pretty good. The only thing about it is that you can only view statements in the last 6 months. I wish you could view further back.

CItibank wanted me to tell you that we've got some recent information about your account and you need to send me your account information to fix it right away

😉

ps - that's a joke b4 someone tries to get me slammed by mods

For some reason, Citibank's online system feels sluggish and I feel that their menu layout could be designed better. Payments are just a tad slow to be posted. And plus my card (Citibank Platinum) has no real rewards per purchase. I'm thinking of creating another card, but haven't found a good one. Some appreciable cash back would be nice.
