Is it just me or are "gourmet" jelly beans terrible?

Put them in a beaker, fill with concentrated sulfuric acid and watch them turn into black serpents! :awe:

Torturing terrible candy sounds like good fun. I think they hated kids more years ago judging by the candy that was available. It's one of the few things that's gotten better over time :^D

My local grocery store has packages of just cinnamon jelly beans. $1.99 a pound. Thankfully they had a really small 8oz container, because I knew when I bought them that there's no way I'd resist them, knowing they were in the house.

Yea, not the really cheap jelly beans but a decent brand like brachs are pretty good. I also really like black jelly beans generally.

Brach's a decent brand?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Guess Brach's is OK if all you shop in is a grocery store.......but Brach's is just a cheap brand, sorry.

And the black jelly beans, they're licorice jelly beans, btw.

I love JellyBelly jelly beans (most of them at least). Its a good thing they are decently expensive or else I would definately be a fatty. The ~30 flavor boxes that come pre-seperated are the best, since you know what each flavor is. Buttered Popcorn is definately an aquired taste btw. I hated it for years, but now its not so bad. The only one I refuse to eat is the licorice one. Unfortunately in bad lighting it can be mistaken for a few other ones (A&W root beer at least).

If at a candy store where I can pick my own, I usually get these flavors:
Pear, Watermellon, Tutti-Fruitti, Very Cherry, Kiwi, Cinnamon

My grocery store has the big jelly belly dispensers so you can buy specific flavors.

I wouldn't like that. I like the surprise factor of a mix bag. There's some flavors I absolutely hate, but it's worth dealing with them because they make the good ones taste that much better.

Jellybelly is still pretty good, but imo they're not quite as good as they used to be. They seem more crusty and sugary, and the flavors aren't as intense as in the past.

That's cos you're getting older and your taste buds aren't as sensitive. 🙁

That's actually one of the old candies I like. Listerine? It should taste kind of like molasses and metal, with an herbal back flavor. Kind of bittersweet.

It definitely tastes medicine-ish no doubt.

The WORST candy ever though has got to be Choward's Violet! They should be in a joke store like the salty salt water taffy! They taste good at first then turn really bad, like chewing aspirin bad! EEEEK! D:

Brach's is infinitely better than no name dollar bags you see around sometimes and better than nasty jelly bellies with a hint of fruit taste. I said they were decent not top of their class. I am aware of what black jelly beans are.
