Is it just me or all the homeless people white or black?

How come you don't see any mexican homeless or asian homeless?

I was down in so cal over the weekend and all the bums/panhandlers were either white or black. Not being racist but this is what I saw in Hollywood, downtown LA, and Santa Monica. Maybe other homeless people hang out in other areas? Or is it something else? I think I know but I don't want to say as it might sound racist.
 
There are lots of mexicans that are homeless, but they get around as migrants so they effectively have a place to stay most of the time.
 
No mexicans because they find another mexican and stay at their place. Next thing you know, there are 35 mexicans living in a 2 bedroom apartment.
 
I was in Toronto the other day and a homeless guy came up to me and asked for money for a coffee and a sandwich. I said I don't have any cash but if you want you can either come in with me and I'll buy lunch with my credit card or I can bring you something out. He looked at me then looked in the restaurant, looked at me again then ran down the street screaming...




Beggars can't be choosers.
 
I've noticed the same trend.

In another thread, I observed Mexicans don't tend to panhandle here... most would rather do backbreaking hard physical labor or stand on the street corner selling flowers/fruit to EARN their money, rather than be given it.

Have to respect that.

Those are my thoughts exactly. They're not too proud to take meager jobs and earn their money instead.

Yes, most hispanics I know are very hard working and family means a lot to them. They take care of each other.

because they are all either gardeners or house keepers 😉
 
It might have to do with the stronger family ties that Mexicans and Asians sometimes have....

I had a Vietnamese friend that did a lot of charity work and one of his charity friends noticed the same thing. Asian/Hispanic families would rather live crowded together in a small house than letting a member be homeless.
 
I've actually never thought about it, but it's true.. I can't remember ever seeing a Mexican or Asian homeless...
 
yeah, here in tucson ive seen all races... cept mexican. Ive never seen a mexican homeless person.... prolly cause they got mass relatives around, im being serious. But yeah, ive seen, asian, white, black, homeless people.... but never a mexican.
 
I have a feeling that those homeless people are not willing to work, of course, some of them are not able to find job because they are dirty, drunk, mental problem or even handicap, but I did see some 40-50 male, they are standing at the freeway exit and begging for money. Aren't they able to find a job at fast food restaurant like burger king, mcdonald or something like that? If they work full time and they will get $6.25x8x20=$1000, at least they can rent a room, get some new clothes, take a bus to work and have a normal life. I goto downtown LA wholesale district many times, I always wondering maybe America unemployment benifit & welfare are too good, so those people got used to of the life depend on the gov't, they will get paid if they don't work, they will have to work so hard to earn the minimum wage.

Isn't that better than just begging for food and money? I think it's smart that if they can't earn much money they put it together and have a roof over their head. At least they are contributing to society, even if on the smallest level.
