Is it immoral for a doctor to recommend an abortion?

Might be impossible to know "would". "Could" is more realistic.
 
Yes.

My pastor has a daughter that they gave a grim chance of survival upon birth. She's almost 2 now. Killing the unborn kid because he/she "might" not survive after birth and not giving the kid a chance at all is extremely cold-hearted. Not to mention murdering someone is immoral to begin with anyway.

If any doctor ever even hinted at an abortion to me I don't think I could ever go back to him.
 
Are you asking, OP, because your parent's Obstetrician recommended they Abort you due to a malformed brain, and instead your parent's decided to let it live?

If I was in that situation, I would want to the doctor to present the option to me so I don't feel horrible about coming up with idea myself (or not even considering it as an option when I should be).

Nah it's better we make decisions for people who haven't arrived yet. Hopefully some day we can just kill off all the blind and deaf people. Right?
 
If the life of the mother is in danger and an abortion is the best option then it is not immoral.

If it is doubtful that the baby will live then it may also be a good option because the birth could kill the mother.

It's immoral to not abort a kid that will surely die. Letting it 'live' would be harder on the kid and the parents, pretty fucking cruel.
 
As a doctor, you shouldn't recommend the abortion. You give them the facts, lay out the options, and let them decide.

It's their body.

Thing is, you can recommend abortion for a terminal fetus all you want, chances are--many parents will still go through with the pregnancy.

-Unless it has Down's or is a gender that they don't prefer, which are the two leading reasons for selective abortion. 😉
 
Dr. Paul always recommended against abortions and never performed one, so I'd say it's immoral to abort. However, the Federal government shouldn't have any say about anything and that includes abortion.
