You can put in a request at the post office to hold or return all mail addressed to them

My mom is pissed because one night after I got home from work, she wanted me to carry a whole bunch of table from the garage to the downstairs, I said hold on I shut the garage door and put the stuff in my arms away. When I opened the garage door she started screaming at me , she said that I made her sick to her stomach, and that she could'nt wait until I was 18 so she could kick me out. In response I said I hope you puke if I make you so sick. Then I went to my room, but my dad came in said I needed to leave for disrespecting my mom like that, I said ok, packed a bag and left. Now she is possibly stealing my mail.

The people who lived in our apartment before us failed to get their address changed. They have been gone at least 5 months now and we were still getting their bills. No one wanted to deal with it so we opened a cell bill and called them and they flipped out. We were nice about it and they were like federal crime for mail fraud, screw them, it got all thrown away.

I expect that level of maturity from a 17 year old (no offense), but not from parents. Some people just aren't fit to raise kids.

yeah.. we are getting all their bank statements and crap like that.... youd think theyd have noticed by now.. however we arent getting cell phone bills.. probably because where they moved is the boonies and they dont get coverage.

If you don't live at home, it probably is criminal. Particularly since they kicked you out. Have your mail forwarded to your current address, or get a PO Box (which you said you are). Try to get a copy of the signed confirmation, that should tell you who signed for it (depending on shipping options, it could have been a neighbor). I'm assuming the incident you describe is true, but simply the last straw.... If it was, indeed, your parents, confront them about it, but don't be a prick. Don't even mention the law unless they are willfully unreasonable - that will no doubt infuriate them (just the mention of it)...

While on the subject of mail law, don't forget to register with the Selective Services. Last I knew, you had to keep them updated of your current mailing address until you turn 26 (starting at age 18)...

Mail cannot be opened, destroyed, or otherwise tampered with by anyone except the addressee under Federal law. Legally, a wife cannot even open her husbands mail unless it is also addressed to her.

Amdskip, if you really threw out their mail, you could be fined by the Postmaster if you get caught.

Twinkletoes77, see above. Don't throw it out, just keep R.T.S. or ask your postman to stop delivering their mail. We put a note in our mailbox asking him to do so, and it helped, except if he's on vacation or subbing routes.

Also, one cannot open another person's mailbox unless it is on official Postal business. It is illegal to put fliers, newspapers, etcetera in someone's mailbox. That is why soliciting companies stick stuf on your doorknob, and why in some areas there are seperate "mailboxes" for the newspaper.

no i think if you're dealing with "mail fraud" and your parents, you have bigger issues to work out with, not just mail fraud or whatever you want to call it. maybe you need to settle things before complaining

Wow, could your story be anymore confusing? First off, your grammar is poor. It's making it very difficult to understand what you are trying to explain about your parents. Second, even if your grammar was understandable, what you wrote isn't very logical or coherent contextually.

I was freaking out not caring about grammar, I was trying to quickly state my problem.
