Pneumatic springs for a hood?Originally posted by: Comdrpopnfresh
Umm, I don't think it is legal. My friend keeps a baseball bat in his trunk, and says he is careful to remember it is in there. If an officer or anyone asks, he says he uses it to keep his hood up, as the pneumatic springs are shot. Why exactly would you need something like that in your car anyhow? If you use it it will get you in trouble, and if you don't it still can. You're in a car- any trouble you run into you can drive away...
Some of those knives are terribly sexy, but the cost is insane.Originally posted by: JLee

You had better have a concealed weapons permit if you intent on keeping it in there.
Not only that, what in the world are you going to do with a Machete? Have you been trained in its use? It would seem to me that getting a Concealed Weapons Permit along with a small firearm would be a lot more useful than that thing.
You can have a baseball bat in your trunk by the way. Why he feels the need to say that it holds up his trunk is beyond me. (I keep a baseball bat and softball bat, and my baseball bag in my car most of the time)

Trained in it's use? It's a giant fucking blade, how complex could it possibly be? You swing at the shit you want in pieces. It's not like a firearm where you need to be taught on how to properly use it and keep it working properly.

A blade is only as useful as the person wielding it. Simply put, if you are not basically trained in how to use a blade for defense or attacking purposes, it may be easily be used against you if you are going against someone who knows how to fight.

My truck has them. They're far more useful than the typical steel rod that unfolds to hold the hood up.

Sure they're not simply hydraulic?

A cylinder and piston can be a pneumatic spring if there is air inside and the cylinder is sealed. But, in my admittedly limited experience, I have never seen a pneumatic spring for a hood.Originally posted by: finite automaton
