I have the CPU but the mobo isn't coming until tomorrow so all I can do it sit here and stare at it. I noticed the pack date was 8/22, which strikes me as rather old. Is this good or bad for overclocking these? Here are the rest of the numbers on it:

Prod. Code BX80557E6300SL9SA from Malaysia
Also has L629A214 on the CPU itself.

My E6300 was a week 29 or 30...My E6600 was a week like 24...and my E6400 was a week 31....they all top out near the same point on different mobos...

And good to hear Duvie!

The 650i should have no problems....May get more...

Yeah I hope so. Actually picked up a southbridge heatsink, which seems like it was a good call. My RAM is A-DATA DDR2 800 so I might be RAM limited in my overclocking it seems, at least if I want to keep a 1:1 ratio.

Why did you need a southbridge heatsink? I am not that familiar with the board?

Oh I just read some comment somewhere that the southbridge gets rather hot, and it was only $5. So I picked one up.

hot doesn't mean unstable. every mobo gets hot to the touch (but well within specs).

And your memory probably won't limit you. You can run async memory frequency so you aren't locked to your FSB speed.

I believe the 650i still has this feature. It would be stupid to remove it.
