My dad has been having problems with his new MoBo.It is an ABIT "SH6" slot 1.When he only has a harddrive hooked up to IDE #1 there is no problem.But when he has A dvd-rom and CD-rom On IDE #2 it wont POST.It sounds like it is starting up but about five seconds later
the light on the monitor changes from green to RED.He has cheked all the jummpers and they all look right and also has tryed a different cable.Why wont it post after adding those disc drives?Could this MoBo be fryed?Please help Thank You
 
Cables at the right position? Try putting the DVD alone and see if it works. If it does, then try puttign the CD-Rom alone. If it does work........hmmm...then I think there's a conflict in between Master/slave settings? Check it too.
 
just as pillage2001 said. also you may want to put dvd & cd on primary IDE and see if it boots and sees the cd drives.
