Is it FL? The GOP? The Miami Herald? All of them?

The Miami Herald is endorsing Republican congressional candidate Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, who claimed in a 2009 interview that she boarded a spaceship occupied by aliens when she was 7-years-old.

The editorial board of the Miami Herald said that her past comments about extraterrestrial beings are a “non-issue” and that she's not crazy.

A lot of people, myself included, might beg to differ, and, even with that, she could wind up in Congress!

So the GOP has gone completely bonkers now? 🙄 However something like this is in the realm of possibility, but it is very unlikely.

Yes, bat shit crazy...but her platform is certainly interesting and not GOP at all.

"Rodriguez Aguilera has outlined what she calls a “working-class agenda,” and has proposed reforming the Fair Credit Act to change the credit score system, making student loan payments more affordable, and creating hardship rental insurance to reduce homelessness."

That certainly seems like a much more viable thing to campaign on than the "Build that wall!" Trump humping that DeSantis is using for his.

Well that is true. however the aliens thing....

Although her platform is sound, I can't trust the GOP at all. I don't recall the last time they proposed something that actually helped anyone in a significant way. Unless that anyone was rich people. And corporations. Based on the examples above I predict the GOP would:
1) reform Fair Credit to change score reporting so
2) student loan payments could be reduced by extending payment terms to be 100 years at 30% interest and
3)creating hardship rental insurance to allow creation of privatized rental housing that could be financed at a 23% rate with deferred payments that the children can eventually assume responsibility for.

Hey that’s a Republican I can deal with.

The same party thinks that climate change isn't real because snow and God/Jesus. Alien abduction lady seems downright reasonable.

I'm actually surprised that more democrat leaning candidates haven't tried to sneak in under the republican banner with all of the retiring congress critters on that side of the isle this year.

Her skills would be wasted in Congress. She should be in charge of Trump's space force.

Agreed. After all, folks that have had close encounters with beings from outer space are pretty hard to find. And besides, she being a Republican, her political platform is about as far out as those beings she partied with. 😉

Most of the people in government believe in ancient Arab zombie legends. Some believe that the Earth is only a few thousand years old.
I'm not bothered so much by this bit of personal history if she has already proven she knows how to properly represent the people in her district.

If my doctor believes that winged, invisible, immortal gender-less humanoid like creatures spied on him when he narrowly avoided a collision on the way to work.....I don't really care so much as long as he is a good doctor.

However, I might just be in a good mood today.

Alien abduction is possibly the least stupid idea the Republican Party embraces, definitely the least destructive.

Let’s not laugh too hard it’s not just the GOP that’s seeing little green men

He just changed his campaign slogan to:

Monkey This Up

Ron DeSantis Tells Florida Not To ‘Monkey This Up’ By Electing Andrew Gillum

"Blond aliens"? Ah, yes the "Nordics".

You might be amazed at the number of people who believe in aliens: About 50% of the US population.

More amazing is that about 18% believe in alien abductions. By my calculation that's well over 50 million Americans.

to be honest - I give zero fucks of what someone believes happened as long as that doesn't play a factor in their politics.

I laugh at anyone that thinks there is a god whatsoever - I equate it to a flying spaghetti monster.... But it's their right to feel that way. How are aliens much different than a god anyhow? Especially people that proclaim that they SPEAK to god or SEE god. Same shit.

Well aliens have the possibility to exist, and most likely they do. However I do think it is highly unlikely that they have visited us in the past much less created life on earth or us for that matter.

Sure - But if anything you're saying that people who believe in a god are even more towards the stupid end than someone that says they were visited by aliens 😛

Like I said, it's very similar to religion - don't mix your religion (or alien beliefs) with your politics and I'm fine with whatever you believe. Obviously the republican side is the worst with that as far as religion.
