Is it enough: Antec Earthwatts 500w?

So I had a spare Antec Sonata case lying around that came with the 500w Earthwatts PSU. Will this be adequate with the 3750K OC'd to 4.5ghz and a single card GPU solution? I have yet to decide on the GPU since I'm not in a hurry to get one but I imagine this is a big variable. Best I can give you is that I'm aiming for a hot deal on sub $200 midrange GPU.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, plenty.

Remember that power supply is likely only 2 x 6pin PCIe. I don't think it has a 6+2 Pin PCIe.

For a midrange GPU it should be sufficient.
The new revision is 80Plus Bronze it looks good.

@ashn2k - Personally i think that would be pushing it. I would feel a lot more safe with a 650w psu of high quality. Corsair, Seasonic, etc.

Bumping my own thread... I've decided to part out my old pc rather than to keep it running along side my new rig. Which means I now also have an old modular 550W Antec Neo HE(5 years old practically running 24/7).

So the question is... Would you use a brand new 500w Antec Earthwatts or a 550w Antec Neo HE?

I wonder if a 500w PSU will do with i7 3770 + gtx 680 oc version?

3770 = well under 100W
GTX680 = under 200W
the rest = under 100W

You'd probably use ~300W in the most demanding games, ~350-400W when going for max power consumption (furmark+prime95). It'd work fine.

However, GTX 680 doesn't make sense as it's around 10% faster than 670 but costs 25% more. GTX670 only uses about 150W, it'd run on effortlessly on a 500W unit.

On a sub-$200 GPU, you can use either.

More than enough. I'm running something similar on 460W and have some room to spare on the PSU.

You're good to go, that's a nice PSU too. My server is in a Sonata 3 with what I assume is the same Seasonic built PSU. A-ok!

I think it should be fine, but I would personally get a bigger PSU just so the PSU isn't working that hard during load.
