Is it easier to get into professional acting these days?

After seeing stories like Christopher Mintz-Plasse I've thought about how lucky he must have been, especially since he had NO acting training before Superbad. But other people have done it too. Is it easier to get into it now?

Every generation has their share of bad actors I'm more referring to new people with no experience that make it big and actually do a good job.

It's more about luck, being in the right place at the right time, looks, and personality than it is about being a good actor.

I know luck plays a huge part, but I'd say Christopher Mintz-Plasse doesn't meet any of the rest of those things.
