It sounds like the mobo has bit the dust, but just to be sure you should pop the cpu on another board and verify that it is ok. Did they have the computer hooked up to a surge protector including the phone line? Check the modem on another pc and verify a lightning strike didn't come through the phone line and jack the mobo up. If it is electrical damage then you shouldn't be responsible for the costs involved in the repair.

UPDATE: I bought a replacement FCPGA mobo here on the FS/T forums. Well...same thing! The only thing left it could be now is the CPU. I'm on the phone w/ intel right now trying to get a replacement. I hope they come through for me!

<rant> GAH!!! Intel has just lost a customer. I just spent over an hour on hold, talking to a moron who knows nothing about computers. He said his "engineers" told him that they couldn't take back the processor without me taking my motherboard to an "intel dealer" to verify it works...even though i've tried 2 DIFFERENT motherboards that both give the the SAME error and replaced EVERY component w/ a verified good one in the system except the CPU. This idiot wouldn't even let me talk to his "engineer" to pleed my case. </rant>

*whalen takes deep breaths*

I guess I'll call tomorrow and tell them I tried my friends p3 in there, and it worked ;)
