I've never heard of doing such a thing, yet my co-worker insists that it is normal. What's your experience, ATOT?
You don't owe them shit. You should be asking them what they have done for you lately besides the stuff they should be doing as great parents.
yes, the 25th anniversary is a big deal. You should (choose at least one:
- buy them a gift
- send them on a cruise or vacation
- throw them a party.
Those are all kind of hard to afford for 3 poor college students (me, brother, sister).
I agree with BoomerD, yet again.Typical ATOT sponge attitude.

Heck, I used to by my in-laws a gift for every anniversary. I thought it was customary to purchase gifts for your parent's anniversary every year. :hmm:

my parents took us all (me, bro, sis) on a european vacation for their 25th anniversary. it was so spectacularly awesome in its epic failure that it was instantly unforgettable.
it's also the reason we have all sworn never to ever vacation with each other ever again.
evar.
here are some highlights: bro picks nose and throws it at sister and they stop speaking. dad yells at mom for not loading the camera with film and they stop speaking. mom spites dad and leaves the camera on the wall outside st. peter's basilica. after i parallel park the rental car at our hotel in rome after driving around the crazy ass local streets dad complains that the car isn't close enough to the curb and i say in a very quiet, calm but obviously extremely agitated voice "everyone...get...out...of...the...car" and they did as fast as they could. FUN!
Co-worker said no usually, but yes for the 25th. He recommended a bottle of their favorite alcohol and gave me a list of decent bottles of $25-$35 bottles of whiskey my dad might like.
