Is it cheesy to paint calipers red (or any color)?

My Brembo calipers are painted silver, rims are semi-gloss black, but the calipers are plainly visible as they are mounted outside the wheel.

Pontiac painted the calipers on the GTO and it looked decent behind the rims. Bad picture, but gives you an idea.

There are few things cooler than drawing attention to your brake drums, few.

Weak/small/stock brakes - no. Keep them silver or black.

I think anyone considering this should try to really stand out by keeping the calipers they way they are and painting the rotors instead.

Painting stock / single piston calipers RED is like a chubby girl wearing a belly shirt. It's might not be wrong, but it certainly isn't right.

does it matter? It still wears off after you brake a few times. If your rims show the rotor, you'll see colored hub with grey rims.

Isn't chrome dust hazardous? I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you aren't blowing it off in a shop when you disassemble, but I would rather have paint than chrome dust.
