I think that is a pretty puritanical view. I know a number of attorneys who listen to Stern fanatically. I have no shame about listening to him at work as long as I don't have clients coming in.
 
I listen to him in the office on a little boombox radio, no headphones, every morning! I sit in a front cubicle, the woman to my left is black, and the woman behind me is chinese. No complaints yet, and it's been 4 years. The often ask why I'm lauging my ass off, I tell them they wouldn't understand.
