I'm like a kid in the candy store at the grocery store this time of year. So much beautiful fruit!

That's what Eve said before she ate the fruit!

So, if you were to eat dry fruit pulp and then followed up with fruit juice, you would be OK with the sugar?

I would assume so. That's why people don't recommend fruit juice, because it has so much sugar but none of the fiber.

It's a lot harder to eat too much fruit than it is to eat too much candy. (Note: dried fruit and sugar-injected fruit juice are pretty close to candy.)

You might be able to find somebody who got fat on fruit, I don't know. I'm not holding my breath. As already mentioned, if it doesn't give you the drips, I don't see a big problem.

I thought dried apricots and figs and things like prunes were actually good for you because they retain most of the fibre? I just bought some dried apricots based on this, so I hope it's true.

Yes, it is bad to eat too much fruit.

One of my college roommates ate an exorbitant amount of fruit. Bananas. Apples. Oranges. Whatever cheap ass fruit the college could buy in bulk. Dried nuts/raisans. You name it. He'd always stock up at the campus cafeteria and bring it back to the dorm. Needless to say he was constantly ripping one. These things were ripe.... and it wasn't like the smell would dissipate after a few seconds. Like rotten eggs, or I imagine similar to how a decomposing body must smell, it was so bad you'd literally be choking on(?)/from the gas. The worst part was that they were all of the silent variety, so you never had any warning. He wouldn't fart and then move on either, but just sit/stand in the same place and act like nothing out of the ordinary had just occurred. Once or twice is funny....haha, omg can't believe the stench. Repeated offenses, however, and you feel like you've been violated 10,000 ways to Sunday.

Everyone begged/pleaded with him to stop eating the fucking fruit, but the selfish m.f.er always claimed he was hell-bent on eating healthy. I don't know how he dealt with all those man-made WMDs that were always coming out of his ass. I think after a while he just became desensitized to the smell.

Anyway, long story short,

Yes, it is bad to eat too much fruit..

everything in balance. Is it that hard to grasp?

Of course not, but I guess I am just not sure where the line is between healthy and too much.

I really don't know how anybody knows what's good or bad for you.

Apparently we are all suppose to do is drink purified water from some spring and eat plain white rice.

Bah, as long as you don't eat so much that it gives you the sh!ts, go for it...
About 4 years ago, I cut out all starchy carbs and sugar. (the white granulated crap)
I don't metabolize simple carbs very well, (make me sleepy) but complex carbs are fine.
(no, I'm NOT diabetic or even truly hypoglycemic...I've been tested)
I ate salads, fruit (usually chopped pineapple, watermelon, grapes and strawberries) plus some grilled meat.
I did that for about 8 months, and lost over 40 lbs.

Then I blew out my knee and my back, and was home for my wife to cook for me on a regular basis...bye-bye weight loss...(god that woman can cook!)

Fruit is awesome. Everytime I go to the grocery store I get a pound of strawberries, but those only last me two days.

Exactly. For me, "too much" can mean more than one banana, or more than half an apple. More than that causes "issues." :Q

IME, your system will adjust to the extra fiber after a couple of days, and the "issues" go away...but that couple of days can be.....interesting...

Apart from the extra calories, probably not. I just saw the "food pyramid" which recommends 2 cups of fruit a day and I eat about 3 times that amount. Some days I go as high as 5-6 times that.

I've been eating 2 bananas a day + half of a cantalope for the past 6 years or so, 5 days a week for lunch.

The past year, I've been having 1 pear, and 1 apple late in the evening as well.

Yet, my cholesterol has gone up! ( I really think they mixed my blood sample with someone else's @ the doctor's office)

not usually, unless you have an allergy. If I eat too many cherries and peaches, I get allergic reactions (my lip swells up and feels hot, and my eye lides swell)</end quote></div>

I also have this allergy. It's called the "oral fruit allergy syndrome"

I recently learned that it isnt actually a food allergy, however. The reaction comes from an allergy to birch. This is interesting because it can therefore be cured by taking allergy shots, whereas a true food allergy cannot.</end quote></div>

Wow, interesting. You learn something new everyday!

I'm not sure about peaches, but cherries come loaded with pesticides. My lips get numb & my tongue gets itchy.

Mmm I also have some at home too 😀. Along with some pears (normal whole pears and pear halves) and green grapes. Only hippies eat the red ones.

As people said, nothing really wrong, but fruit does have sugar in it.

Watch who you are calling a hippy!

I haven't had a pear in a while...I'll have to hit the grocery store on the way home now, thanks.
