Is it bad to eat too much fruit?

I had a banana and some red grapes for breakfast then a sandwich for lunch. I just ate an orange and am staring at the apple and nectarine on my desk trying to decide which is next! I also have some strawberries waiting for me at home...

Is there anything wrong with eating that much fruit every day?

not usually, unless you have an allergy. If I eat too many cherries and peaches, I get allergic reactions (my lip swells up and feels hot, and my eye lides swell)

I wouldn't consider that "too much" fruit, unless you are used to eating a grape a day.

I eat a large plate of fruits in the morning, some more during lunch, and I feel so much healthier.

I'm like a kid in the candy store at the grocery store this time of year. So much beautiful fruit!

I love fruit, pretty much any kind. I could eat it constantly all day. Kiwi, blackberries, apples, pineapple, cherries....mmmmm. Ok I'll stop now.

There was one guy here a couple of years ago that went on an all apple diet for a few weeks. He survived and actually lost a few pounds.

Christian Bale? 😕

No.

If you ate so many that it gave you diarrhea, that wouldn't be good, but... no.

everything in moderation. Too much of anything is never a good thing

True enough! I have been working out a lot harder than befor though, so I also want to eat more, plus it just tastes so damn good.

Not bad for you, it's actually REALLY good for your body. Just brush your teeth, like the others said.

No worries there, I'm a bit of a spaz when it comes to oral hygiene! 😀

I also have this allergy. It's called the "oral fruit allergy syndrome"

I recently learned that it isnt actually a food allergy, however. The reaction comes from an allergy to birch. This is interesting because it can therefore be cured by taking allergy shots, whereas a true food allergy cannot.

Wow, interesting. You learn something new everyday!

Fruit are nature's candy-bars.

I try to eat fruit about an hour before a meal. Your blood sugar rises when you eat it and it is the decline afterward that makes you particularly hungry.

Ok, I read somewhere that fruit contains simple sugars, which are easily stored as fat if you eat too much. Somebody prove/disprove?

Fruit has sugar, but it's not like eating a candy bar. Fruit has fiber which slows down the rate of blood sugar level being raised I believe.

Some idiot at work said eating fruit was bad for you because of the sugar. If you can't eat fruit, then wtf can you eat?

The fiber in the fruit prevents this, fruit isn't simple sugar. Correct me if I'm wrong but fruits are complex carbohydrates.
