Is it bad that I got a Super Orb for the K7T Pro2 A??

relax friend... it's not as if your processor will self-destruct because you got a Super Orb rather than a Taisol or another model hs/fan. The SOrb is a reasonable solution - it's neither the absolute top performing solution nor the worst, ditto with noise and price. Situations like this, choosing a cooling solution, present a set of trade-offs that you have to make. I use the SOrb currently on a like setup, and it works for me - if you're looking for efficiency, not just bragging rights, the Super should do a reasonably good job for you.

The SUORBS work fine. Like oithers have said they offer a great compromise between cooling, sound, and cost.

great choice, i actually saw a temp DROP going from a alpha 6035 w/delta 38cfm sucker to the super orb. go figure. changed them back, the alpha still higher temps, but only by 2 c. works great on the k7t pro2 a.

from what i hear the superorb is nice, quiet, and a solid cooler. If you're trying to over clock to the roof, maybe not the best but it should work for most overclocks.

I think that you may have to clip the base a little to make it fit. Not sure where I read that, though.

I bought a A7V with a 800mhz Tbird and also a GlobalWin Fop32 but it seems
to get to hot around 53c/126F so I bought a ThermalTake SuperOrb.
When I installed the Super Orb I heard a crunching sound after it clicked on
my socket latch, I turned on my computer and nothing no beeps no video
nothing. I took the Super Orb off and looked at my cpu and the part in the
middle of the cpu was broken off so I had a dead cpu. I went to my local
computer store and got another 800mhz Tbird and at first I used the Fop32
and everything was fine again but I was wondering if I made a mistake with
the Super Orb the first time I tried it, so I installed it again being very
careful this time not to do anything wrong and after a second I heard that
crunching sound again and guess what second dead cpu. I have emailed
Thermaltake and told them what happened and I am awaiting their reply maybe
they will repay me for my cpu's or they may said screw you either way I want
a response and a reason they have a cooler out that does'nt do what they say
it should.
Now I have to wait until after Christmas to order a new cpu and this time I
will probly get a 1.2ghz my first 800mhz was stable @1ghz didn't get a
chance to OC the second.
Just posting this for everyone to take care with Thermaltake Orbs since they
are not on AMD's recommended list.

I want to include a picture of the dead cpu's but I don't know how on this message board.

Ok... Now I know I did something wrong when some of you started to say they such and they break cpus. And not to mention, the guy that checked my order told me that they would assemble the board, cpu, and heatsink for me.

How hard is it to remove a orb?

Not that hard, you only need to use a screwdriver and make sure you have enough space around you socket. Only press the clip and not the HS.
