However, I have read a few American articles written by people that seem to have good English language skills, yet they have started several sentences with ?And?. I have also seen on numerous occasions, people on here start a sentence with ?And?.

So I am confused. Would someone with a better understanding of the English language, like to fill me in?

It's just a general rule of the thumb they teach in primary school as most kids don't know how to properly start one off with it.

Starting a sentence with because is fine if you finish the clause.

Because you are an idiot. = bad

Because you are an idiot you think "because" can't be used at the beginning of a sentence. = ok

I dont think it's not that big of a deal as long as it doesn't get in the way of stating your point
