Is it appropriate to wear THIS to job interview?

Of course I'll be in full sports coat, shirt and tie underneath. Is tan too much? The jacket is rather very sleek looking but I don't know if it's appropriate.

It should be fine, wouldn't you remove and hang it in the lobby area anyway?

The coat is fine though I'd wear a suit over a sports coat, tie and slacks for an interview.

need pics of OP in said coat.

here minus the scarf, u think that's professional or tan color too flashy?

Sure it's fine. Unless it's above 40F out when you go for the interview - then you will look silly.

There is a flasher downtown that has that exact same coat.

that was... actually me.

I started to reply with the shocked animation but the time it took to start typing i realized that there was no reason really to be shocked about. it all sorta makes sense...

most likely you will have taken off your coat and hung it somewhere before you even meet the guy who will be interviewing you. so it doesn't matter.

You're not going to actually wear the coat during the interview, and it looks fine in the pic you posted. It's not quite as slick as some of the more business-like overcoats you'll see, but looks infinitely better than a columbia coat and those lame black wool coats that only go to the waist. I'm so sick of seeing those things. They scream out "brainless drone" to me.

I assume you don't want to just go in the suit and tie because of inclement weather??
