I got software called CPU Z that checks cpu performance.
In my new P4 2.4 computer it shows Code Name of my PC as Prescott. why is it??

how do i turn on hyperthreading?
 
Yup it's likely a prescott if it's a new 2.4 and you didn't go out of your way to get a northwood.

And if it's a prescott 2.4, there's no HT.
