Is it a good idea to show up at a party without being invited?

if it's a big party, just tag along with one of your friends who was invited
if it's a small, exclusive party, don't bother going

When I was in highschool, even if you trudged the required 12 miles in a windy winter storm uphill both ways, it would still have been rude to show up uninvited.😉
Only in Canada.

She's a woman and you are, I'm assuming, a man. Whatever you choose will be right. Fuck her, both literally and metaphorically.

Yeah, I'm a man, and sticking it to her is actually the main reason I'm going, to show her I'll go whenever i please.

problem solved.

Edit: just read your post in L&R.

It seems like you're a horrible decision-maker in life. If your instinct is to crash this party to get in this girl's pants, it will not go well. You should probably just give up and stay at home for the next 4 years; esp if you think how you acted in your AP history class is in any way "cool" or acceptable in the real world of social interactions. You know, where people don't care about your High School drama.

I just don't know the difference between being a jerk and high school drama and being socially dominant, seeing how from the Ladder Theory women prefer men who don't bow down and supplicate to them, but are confident and don't take crap.

I just don't understand the difference. Besides, I'm not interested in getting in a girls pants or anything, i'm just wanting to go to hang out with my friends and have a good time.

i dunno man.
you wanna be THAT guy?
when you take a piss..they'll be talking all sorts of shit about you
"man i wish he'd leave" etc.etc.

Serious question:
How did the OP escape our radar for 3 years?
I want to holler "fresh meat" but he's been among us for 3 years!

I pulled a Valentine's Day party without getting invited. I knew the guy hosting it, and everyone was just using him for his party. Which turned to be more like a family reunion, but still. No, it's fine. Just come in, and act like you were invited. People have short memories, and if you're friends all around, not much he can do without looking like an anus.

What would happen if, say, you were friends with two the hosts girlfriends but not really with the host herself?

Should i just forget this whole idea and just throw my own party at sometime and not invite the host of this party?

Like, just a little thing in the park or something?

Or would i be safe if I went in uninvited(eg. not risking getting beat up or even worse humiliated and kicked out, as most of the host's male friends are my friends as well)?

According to your L&R postings you don't drink and don't hang out with people who drink. I'd imagine your party would be extremely boring.

Having said that, my advice is to hold your own party. You need to explicitly not invite the girl (ie make a huge deal about it all over school). Report back to ATOT regarding the success of your party.

Yeah, in fact, devote your entire future to the planning and execution of small, petty gestures meant to humiliate people who will neither notice or care.

Wouldn't making a big deal just make me look like a spazz-out to the girl? She could just lol it off by saying "the guys just mad i didn't invite him".

Sounds like a NEXTing Ceremony(source: Ladderwiki.com, currently seems down or something) where a guy tells a girl he hates her in futile hopes she'll magically come to terms, when really she'll be like what i just said and Lol it off.

you are a black hole of fail. this entry from wikipedia describes you perfectly:

In general relativity, a black hole of fail is a region of space in which the fail field is so powerful that nothing, including fail, can escape its pull after having fallen past its event horizon. The term derives from the fact that absorption of fail renders the hole's interior invisible, and indistinguishable from the black space around it.

Despite its invisible interior, a black hole of fail may reveal its presence through interaction with ATOT members orbiting the event horizon. For example, a black hole of fail may be perceived by tracking the replies of threads. Alternatively, one may observe awkward social situations (from a nearby human, for instance) that has been drawn into the black hole of fail. The awkward social situation spirals downward, heating up to very high temperatures and emitting large amounts of fail that can be detected from earthbound and earth-orbiting telescopes.[2][3] Such observations have resulted in the general scientific consensus that?barring a breakdown in our understanding of nature?black holes of fail do exist in our universe.[4]

Oh, this actually makes a big difference in high school. She won't even know you're there. Just go, don't be a jackass, greet her nicely while you're with your friends. If you don't do anything to get you kicked out, you won't be.

Edit: Dude, you're really overanalyzing this. If she didn't invite you, and she's ambivalent towards you, then she probably figured it would be awkward to invite you and that your friends would bring you along. Stop whining and just go - if you're not welcome, leave without making a fuss and no one will care.

Dude... i do this shit all the time. Just go. I've never had any prolems... bring some booze people will love you.

I think it's hilarious that you're going to go just to "show her you're a man," yet you've been whining on a message board for hours about whether you should do it or not.

Thanks for the laugh dude :^D

Wth is a RV dance party? I've seen some sizable RVs, but none suitable for a dance party. Sounds more like an orgy to me ;^)
