Is it a bad thing for a relationship to feel surreal in its early stages?

I think i've begun to dig myself a potential grave here....with guess what.....another girlfriend. So far things seem to be fine. We met on a friendly basis, and i never knew that things could have developed the way they have. But, ever since i've been seeing her, things just feel surreal. Maybe it's the fact that she's gorgeous and not just another dumb broad. Can that be it? I can't explain it myself. I'm just HOPING that it feeling surreal doesn't lead us to disaster!

Yeah been there, and believe me, theres times where I had a hard time eating because I was too busy daydreaming of her.... and after we broke up.... OUCH. I didn't let myself cry or anything, but damn I had such a hard time not being with her. So I taught myself to hate her fvckin guts instead..... we're still friends now.... :-D

Yeah... It happens if you're in love or infatuate with that person. You can't concentrate at work, walking, driving.

Daydreaming is a good description of it.

Nothing wrong with that.

Make sure its a two way street though, perhaps you want to get your feelings on check, just to not over do it and later suffer uninmaginable pain. But like life, relationships are a gamble and you get out of it what you put in, both in the negative and the positive.

don't worry. give it a few months and you will be fighting all the time and asking yourself where you can get the balls from to end the relationship.

It only seems surreal because it's a dream. Don't worry, you'll wake up soon.

Well someone had to say it.

Most important thing in this stage of the relationship is to BE YOURSELF. I can't stress this enough. If you overdo the sweetness, affection, and attention that you lavish upon her now, it will make things hard in the future when you come to your senses.

*nods at Shiva112* Be yourself, and go into it without any preconceptions or expectations. Drop everything you've heard or remembered girls in your last relationship(s) and start fresh.

Good luck. :)

Well, thanks for all the advice guys. I'll make sure to try to keep that stuff in mind. So far, i've just let things progress on their own. Past girlfriends and all the crap they've put me through is HISTORY.

Marilyn Manson once said in some lyrics: "I'm not in love, but, I'm going to %#@! you, till, somebody better, comes along...."

I like to live by that rule.
