Is it a bad idea to have a funeral on 6/6/06?

So, my uncle died late last week (not a really sad event as he had reached the ripe old age of 97 and was ready to shed this mortal coil).

The interesting thing is the funeral is scheduled for this afternoon, 6/6/06.

Is this a bad thing?

I personally am not into religion or any of the trappings that go along with it, but in the various discussions I have heard about the significance of this date no one has mentioned any ideas regarding holding a funeral on this date.

No, no biggie. Unless the deceased would have found it unsettling, maybe.

My condolences regarding your Uncle, may he RIP, but unless you are some fanatical religious zealot that believes in the literal translation of some ancient text written by men...then no, its just another Tuesday like any other day. That being said \../666\../ ooohhhh LOL

Is the funeral procession going to play Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell?

No, it's not a bad idea. Don't delay your uncle's funeral just because some losers are making a big deal out of an insignificant date.

my roommate had to write an obituarary to a judge today in court cause of his numerous speeding tickets, needless to say
he was a little freeked out about it.

Nope. Just make sure to play Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast sometime during the ceremony.

On a serious note, my condolences go out to your family.
