Is it a 12Cell or 8Cell Li battery?

hi.

i got myself a new compaq presario laptop. I was wondering how I can figure out whether it really has a 12cell battery or it is 8cell. I can't find any information on the battery.

Download and run MobileMeter. Right click in the chart/graph to select 'options'...under 'battery information' if it says 'designed capacity' is 88800mWh then it's the 12 cell battery...or at least it is in the R3000z models.

Each cell is roughly good for 8Watt*hr so when you get the laptop and check its WHr rating. Divide it by 8 and it'll roughly give you the cell rating. If the battery mentions voltage and Milliamp hours, then you can simply multiple the two values to get the Watt*hr.
