From the Moscow Times, of all media outlets:

The Iraqi insurgents in Fallujah outnumbered the Marines and were armed with Kalashnikov automatic rifles, RPG-7 antitank grenade launchers and mortars. Chechen fighters used the same weapons in Grozny in 1995, 1996 and 2000, killing thousands of Russian soldiers and destroying hundreds of armored vehicles.

Just like the Russians in Grozny, the Marines last week were supported by tanks and attack helicopters, but the end result was entirely different. U.S. forces did not bomb the city indiscriminately. The Iraqis fought well but were massacred. According to the latest body count, some 600 Iraqis died and another 1,000 were wounded. The Marines lost some 20 men.

I disagree. I think that a large portion of the Muslim world is now ready to fund a low-tech but dedicated group of people who would love to kill westerners in their country. His observation also ignores or doesn't recognize the fact that it probably takes 100 times as much to support an American soldier in the field as it does to support one of the locals.

The question is not whether we'll be kicked out (after declaring victory and turning the government over to our thugs) the question is when and how much will we lose along the way.

No. This is wide open desert like shooting ducks in a barrel. jungle changes everything...not to mention another superpower supplying the insurgents as in veitnam. This will be difficult maybe have to kill 10-20K more but it's just a matter of time before they comply.

The comparisons to Vietnam are inevitable because this is a struggle that will have NO winners. Anyone who claims to have won will have won a Pyhrric victory at best.

Buahaha - sure whatever. You keep trying to tell yourself that kerry is the "new Clinton".:p You ever see those cartoons with the big dog vs the little dog? Where the big dog holds a finger on the little dogs head to keep him away? No matter what the little dog does it can't get close to the big dog. THAT is the relationship of kerry and Clinton.:p

One could easily change the names in your little rant to Bush and Reagan. You know - the left hated Reagan so much(well the partisan left did) they tried everything they could to paint him as a stupid, lying, hateful man. Well I guess we all know how well that turned out for the Ds.:p

Keep it up thought - the American people see right through the partisan tripe being spewed by the left against Bush.:D
