Do not buy that bike. It is a POS. If you want a bike, go to a bike shop and spend AT LEAST $250 for a real bike. Get a Specialized, Trek, Marin, or something similar. A bike shop bike costs 3 times as much as a Wal-Mart bike, but is 20 times better. Plus, it was put together by somebody who knows what he/she is doing.

Cliff Notes: Department store bikes suck.
Get a real bike.

This man speaks the TRUTH!

yep agree here

Honda does make a kickass downhill bike with a crazy new shifting deal, costs upwards of 3K and is supposed to be amazing

Thanks, guys.... Those opinions help.
BTW, mitsu is the biggest corporation in Japan. It makes everything....from home appliance to heavy industry....

I will never again put my life in the hands of a cheap bicycle. When I was a kid I had a cheap bike and I pedaled on the roadside. A couple of scary times I remember is one time the chain jammed and the bike came to a dead stop I was lucky to manage to not fall over. The other time is when I had a severe brake failure on a steep hill. Thank god cars on the side road didn't decide to pull out in front of me.

These days I own a Trek bike. I forget how much I paid for it but I'm sure I could have bought quite a few cheap Walmart bikes for what I paid for this bike. However the Trek bike has never failed me or put my life in danger.

Lack of maintenance appears to be the only failing of your cheap bike. Check cables and lube chain to prevent chain suck and you'd have been alright.
