To me, there is a hierchy in memory decisions.

Size, Speed, Timings

Then again, i dont particularly overclock (trying to keep my servers running on just STOCK settings seems hard enough!)

"CAS 2-2-2-5-1T @ 400FSB"

So what........

That increases your system performance a whole >1% if your lucky......Is it worth the money? Absolutly not.

hmm, so looking at these choices (crucial's matches for NF7-S rev2), and considering:
- gamer
- overclocking a 2400+ (266fsb) that has refused to budge 1fsb with my current 768mb crucial PC2100
- sometime will buy a Ath64, maybe not for 6months.

... the anandtech forum reccomended choice would probably be

2x 512MB DDR PC3200 CL=3 (normal) = £117, rather than:
2x 512MB DDR PC3200 CL=2 (ballista sticks) = £169
2x 512MB DDR PC4000 CL=2.5 (ballista sticks) = £176

nb the normal stuff is like 3-4-4-8 or something, ballistix is 2-2-2-5 or so.

sorry to "hijack", but figured it might make an interesting example, or something ;)

why pay more for high end pc3200 when you can pay pretty much the same for pc3500 pc3700 or even pc4000?
