Is Google using some stupid new time delay?

When I go to Google, it immediately loads "Google" and the search bar under it, but there's like a 1 - 2 second delay before the rest of the crap on the page fades in. Please tell me I'm not crazy.

Weird - that exact thing was happening to me last week with Google. I figured it was just my computer? It's not doing that anymore though.

Firefox 3.5

I think Google might be telling me to kill prostitutes, which is odd, because it just confirms what the neighbor's dog already told me yesterday.

Never noticed it before since it doesn't happen on iGoogle.

Are you signed into iGoogle? I had to sign out and go to www.google.com instead of my homepage www.google.com/ig to see what the fuss was about.
Ok, didn't need to sign out, it works on their Classic home too.

And it's not really a timed delay.. it will display the header and footer once you move the mouse around in the page. If you don't move the mouse over the page they don't display.

I think it's actually kind of cool.

Not logged into anything google atm. Just typing in http://www.google.com/ and hitting enter. The page loads instantly with no pauses anywhere.

No, it's not a delay.

If you move the mouse anywhere on the screen, then the rest of the page shows up.

I think it's better this way. If you open a new tab or window and go to Google, then you can have a completely simplified search window.

If you need to see images or whatever, just move the mouse and then click the links.

If you want to set you set your browser to do this, go to Google, C&P the below into the address bar and hit 'enter'.

javascript:void(documentDOTcookie="PREF=ID=abac7a90f5a3784b:LD=en:NR=10:TM=1254990196:LM=1254990236:S=uB6F4jDnMP_DuxtT;path=/; domain=.google.com");

REPLACE the "DOT" in "documentDOTcookie" with a period.

I was going to say it's probably FF3.5. I recently updated from FF2 and I'm quickly learning that 3.5 sucks major balls.
