Is google down?

It was weird, yesterday google went down for me as well in Chicago. I thought it was because I was at work, but when I got home I still couldn't reach it. My email client couldn't connect to their pop servers either. The outage lasted about 4-6 hours. Maybe they are doing regional upgrades or something.
 
No. Google is never broken. Ever. There was that one time though, but other than that Google is invulnerable and will never go away.
 
There have been some DDoS attacks against several different Chicago server farms recently. Nuclear Fallout went down the other day (CS:S, DOD:S, and TF2 all pinging > 300), and our vent server got hit too. These attacks have been going on for a few weeks now, so it could be related.
 
I believe their servers are down because Google filed for bankruptcy late friday afternoon, which is also probably why their stock went from nearly $600 in the morning to roughly 38¢ in extended hours trading. 😛
