Call me old fart, but I have no interest in "social media". I am not that social to begin with. message board is as far as I would go.
k. thanks for contributing to this thread.

Be sad all you want but that is what is keeping everyone on facebook longer then 5 mins.
hm what's this?

I just don't understand this OMG FACEBOOK HAS NO SECURITY bullshit. Spend 5 minutes on your privacy settings and BOOM your profile is locked down. You even have an option to preview what your page will look like based on a person's security setting.
Does Google+ have games?
The main reason that Facebook killed myspace was because of games like Mafia Wars, Farmville , ect. With out games Google+ is is just a fart in the wind. There are to meny people invested in their facebook games to give it up. People been playing some of these games for over 5 years. They ain't going to give that up.
What will happen is that people will get Google+ log in for 5 mins and then go right back to playing their Facebook games. This is the anchor that Google+ will never be able to move.
Just look at Zygan and how much money they make.

Sigh, why dont we just call up our friends anymore?
Considering Google invested a few hundred million in Zynga, there's almost no doubt that Zynga-based games will be coming to G+

Will the games import from Facebook? If not I don't think people will jump ship after the years of time invested. Some might to get a fresh start but I see that as only a select few. I hope that Google+ can blow Facebook out the water with games but no one is really talking about games. Everyone is talking about circles. So I have my doubts.
Sure, you can wade through multiple levels of menus to find all the different privacy settings for facebook but it's a serious pain in the butt. Facebook sets the default to be far more public than most people want then you have to go through and fix it all, every single time they do an update. It's pretty clear facebook doesn't make privacy a priority and has been getting away with it because there wasn't a viable alternative.
The problem with that is there is no way to control who sees what when using the mobile app. If you post a picture it's public until you get to a pc and change it. With Google+ it's built right in and very easy to use.
Still trying to figure out how crashtestdummy signed up yesterday...

I've managed to invite a few people this way, and it looks like it was how I got invited.
"Google+ is in limited Field Trial. During this time, when you share something with people who aren't yet able to use Google+, they'll receive it via email but won't be able to comment or engage with the content like other Google+ users. They'll be able to join Google+ as we let more users in over time.
If you're not yet on Google+, you can sign up to stay updated here."
I'm seeing that as well...
I got invited a few days ago I think and I still don't have any progress.
not missing anything.
it's just a "nice to have" at this point until everybody joins.
