Is golf the sport with the most respect?

After watching the PGA championships today and seeing Phil win and also seeing jack nicklaus call it a career...it brough back a thought I always have when I see these tournaments.

Golf seems to have the most respect/honor than any other sport.

You don't see golfers complaining and refusing to play because they aren't paid enough. They don't(for the most part) rag on eachother. While I don't mind hockey fights and such, golf just seems to be in a class of its own. Granted it may not be the most exciting sport around...

What do you guys think?

Dorky preppy dudes don't fight, man...

Plus most of these players have always had some money, grown up in wealthy families, etc. If you can get on the PGA tour and do reasonably well, you will still make plenty of money...

Now, if we could combine hockey and golf....

Bunch of oddly dressed men beating the bejesus out of each other with clubs...now that would be worth watching.

I seem to remember a commercial that showed this exact situation

No, the inclusion of a semi-black man has greatly decreased its respect potential.
I vote hockey. Are there any black hockey players?

Yes, I would say you are correct. The nature of golf is that you don't beat other people, you have to beat the course. It's you vs. the course and I guess it's hard to feel enmity for other golfers for this reason.

Yep. If these pansy bitches had to worry about being clotheslined into the sandtrap while they tried to putt, you'd see the respect disappear and the trash talking begin. What's there to get upset at or show disrespect too? Let the little white ball have a chance at getting back at these pvssies and then we'll talk.
