Doesn't ginobilli play SF often? I thought for sure he did.

nah...bruce bowen does

That's the starting team, but I seem to recall ginobilli playing SF in some situations. Like when nick van exel and parker were in.

These days most players play a couple of positions depending on the matchups and personel on the floor. Its more and more difficult to pigeon-hole one player to one position unless they are a short point guard or a huge center, and even then there are exceptions.

please explain what is a 2 guard & a foreward.

1 - point guard (usually the shortest)
2 - shooting guard
3 - small forward
4 - power forward
5 - center (usually the tallest)

point guard and shooting guard can often be called two-way guard. small forward is often called swing and seldom used power forward and center are posts.
